Three others involved in the crash—a 17-year-old driver, a 17-year-old boy, and an 18-year-old woman—were transported to local hospitals with injuries but are expected to survive. Investigators noted that the driver may have been speeding, lost control in a curve, and overcorrected, contributing to the fatal outcome.
