HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, Pennsylvania — The community is mourning the tragic loss of 20-year-old Dalen Martin of Smithsburg, Maryland, who died in a construction accident on April 2, 2026.
According to authorities, Martin was working at a construction site on the 700 block of Clover Drive when a trench suddenly collapsed, trapping him. Emergency responders, including air medical teams, EMS, and local fire personnel, rushed to the scene. Despite their efforts, Martin was pronounced dead by the Franklin County Coroner’s Office.
Officials, including the Pennsylvania State Police, confirmed that the collapse was accidental, and the investigation into the incident has since been concluded.
