The community in Louisville is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 26-year-old Carlos Wilson Jr., as loved ones gathered for a balloon release in his honor at the Greenwood boat ramp.
Family and friends came together to remember Carlos and to call attention to what they describe as a lack of information in the ongoing investigation. The young boy died on March 28 after being hospitalized for injuries he sustained days earlier.
According to authorities, Carlos was found on March 23 in a backyard in the Pleasure Ridge Park area with severe injuries. Police said he had been jumping fences and entering nearby yards prior to the incident.
Carlos’s mother has expressed frustration over the lack of arrests, stating that she believes someone should be held accountable. While acknowledging that investigations take time, she emphasized that the circumstances surrounding her son’s death warrant quicker action.
Officials have indicated that progress in the case depends on the release of the official cause of death by the coroner’s office. Police say they have spoken with all parties involved and have agreed to provide the family with weekly updates.
As the investigation continues, the community remains united in grief, honoring Carlos Wilson Jr.’s memory and seeking answers in the wake of his tragic death.
