The town of Carhaix is mourning the tragic loss of Yves Camus, a respected local figure and former head of Intermarché, who died in a road accident on Wednesday evening, April 8, 2026, at the age of 73.
According to reports, Camus was walking home around 7:30 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle along Avenue du Général-de-Gaulle, near the intersection with Rue Anatole-France. The accident occurred close to the restaurant Le Renard et la Belette. Despite emergency response efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.
