LAS VEGAS, Nevada — A woman in her 50s has died following a domestic violence-related shooting in the east valley, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
Police say the incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. near McLeod Drive and East Sahara Avenue, in the 2800 block of Karen Avenue. Officers, along with the Clark County Fire Department, responded to reports of a shooting and found the victim outside a residence suffering from a gunshot wound.

Despite life-saving efforts by emergency crews, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said the suspect, a man in his 60s who was in a domestic relationship with the victim, was also involved in a secondary shooting with a neighbor before fleeing the area.
Police later confirmed the suspect was apprehended in another jurisdiction. He is currently in critical condition at a hospital with what are believed to be self-inflicted injuries.
Investigators stated that a handgun was used in the incident, though further details about the weapon have not been released. The case remains under active investigation.
